Using a combination of modern objective strength equipment and classic ‘tried and tested’ functional tests, we aim to deliver the most effective and appropriate training plans for our clients, taking the guessing out of the game.
Kris is a very keen runner himself, who has enjoyed competing for 20 years over various distances, but now largely focuses on long distance road running.
Working with Kris over the past 7 years has been truly transformative. As a physiotherapist, strength and conditioning specialist, and running coach, he has helped me recover from injuries, build strength, and improve my running performance far beyond what I thought was possible. I have learnt a lot from his expert guidance, from injury prevention to optimising my training. I feel stronger, faster, and more confident thanks to his support. I highly recommend Kris to anyone looking to enhance their running
I've been working with Kris for around the past 10 years for various running related injuries. I sought help 3 years ago for a stubborn proximal hamstring tendinopathy, which had been limiting my ability to train and race effectively. Kris assessed my running gait and identified specific areas of improvement in my running style to both minimise the risk of flare ups and future injuries, and improve my performance. Beyond injury recovery, Kris has helped me improve my general strength, conditioning and mobility for running. The progress in my running performance is undeniable, and I've been able to push through training with more confidence and less risk of injury. Overall, Kris is professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping me achieve my athletic goals. I couldn’t recommend him more highly.
I had been suffering with muscular issues in my hip/back/leg for months if not years before seeing Kris - what had I been waiting for?
After 15 minutes discussing my past and current sporting exploits (hockey/cricket/cycling…), as well as the lengthy duration of time which I spend sat at a desk, Kris had the cause of my issues nailed down.
He set out a program of exercises which increased in intensity over the following ~9 months, during which time I felt myself continuously improving until I reached a point where my symptoms had eased to almost complete relief. Kris then set out a program which allows me to maintain my condition for the long term, without the need of a revisit.
I cannot recommend Kris highly enough, he took a genuine interest in curing my problems and worked closely with me to ensure my progress was maintained relentlessly. He was always on hand to answer queries and suggest tweaks to the program. A 10/10 experience.
I first met Kris in January 2023 when he diagnosed me with a bulged disk in my lower back. The injury had been caused by weight training with only basic advice and without correct form. Obviously the initial focus was to recover from the injury which prevented me from running for the next two months. With regular visits every 4 weeks or so, Kris taught me how to strengthen my back and core in order to both recover from and prevent a similar injury in the future. When I was finally able to begin running again I was surprised how strong I felt given that I hadn't run at all for almost 8 weeks. The strength training was clearly working. From this point on we gradually increased the strength training, adding exercises tailored to where I needed to increase my strength through regular assessments. As we worked together, adding more weight and difficulty to my strength and conditioning routine, I began to feel stronger and my running performance gradually improved, along with my self belief. My aim, of course, was to get back racing and in October 2023 I ran Scarborough 10K hoping to get somewhere near sub 50. I finished in 48.34, far better than I'd hoped for. On reflection, becoming injured has taught me a lot and I now feel stronger and more informed about how to train safely. I continue to see Kris on a regular basis as I feel that working with him on a one-to-one basis is safer and more effective for me than going back to the gym. I can discuss any issues I have and feel motivated to keep working to improve my strength and overall fitness.
